Moving to Singapore...

Now you know why the long gap between posts.

It's cause I am moving, lock stock & barrel, to the city state of Singapore. I will still be working for the same company, but in Singapore instead of India.

The reasons for the move are many.

I personally think that Singapore is a very nice place. Very clean, very safe. Has all the trimmings of a first world country & still has a very Asian touch.

Singapore is, and has been trying to maintain this for some time, the hub for a lot of things in this part of the world. It competes with the likes of Hong King for the status of the financial hub for Asia Pacific. It has a huge telecommunications infrastructure, it has one of the busiest ports in the world. So despite all the things being talked about the Singapore economy, it is far from being a sleepy economy.

I am sure the way business is done in Singapore as compared to the way it is done back home in India is very different. It will be a good learning experience to see how business is done in other parts of the world.

Another reason is travel. When you are in India, you have to travel...whether you like it or not. That's cause there is business happening all over the country & there is no way you can just stay in one place. Not so for Singapore, primarily because it is a very small country. All business happens here & people catering to the business in Singapore dont have to travel out of the country at all. So I will now get to go back home every evening & spend time with my wife & daughter.

And there a lot of things to do for kids. So many places for kids to have a lot of fun. Just hoping my daughter likes this place.

So, all in all, I think this move will be good for me personally as well as professionally and will be good for family as well.

From now on, all the posts are from Singapore. So you can definately expect Singlish to be the medium of communication sometimes :-)
